how much they feel beholden to you - enough to actually take the time to do a good job, for free? I'm with JBender on this one... Even if they're good painters, money is a good motivator for them to be that. Even I, patient as I can be, have gotten to the middle of a free or cheap job I'm doing for someone and have gotten tired of it/impatient enough to look for ways to cut corners, remembering that I'm not getting much/anything for my time... Just something to think about. And with that in mind, if you do go forward with it, I'd suggest going with the same color it already is since the details of a paintjob not up to par will be less noticeable that way.
